  1. This book was a bit of a let down because it went on and on and on describing the ‘seacat’. Doing its mystical jumps and finding a key for 3 PAGES!!!!

  2. The worst book out of the shortlist. The storyline keeps changing and it talks about a “cat” too much! Would be better if it wasn’t talking about a cat all the time.

  3. Emily, less of the cat PLEASE!
I am sick of hearing about the cat and its ‘amazing’ feats.
    IT IS A CAT!!! :#

  4. Reavers’ Ransom is about a girl called Lilly Melkun. When the reavers decide to kidnap the Prime Minister’s daughter, she has to go and try to help. I like this book because it’s an exciting adventure and I think everyone will like it.

I really enjoyed this book: Lily Melkun (or Lilo) is a great character. It’s an adventure book with a twist of friendship! A pirate type book from two sides of the story, written in a country-type voice. I loved this book and would recommend it to people who like adventure books.

  5. I was personally not impressed with this book. I don’t like books like this: action and mystery. I prefer fantasy and black comedy! Not a winner in my book. Sorry Reavers’ Ransom….you were not very good at all.

I didn’t like Reavers’ Ransom at all because it was not really to my taste. I do think that someone else would like it and it could be a really good read.

I quite liked Reavers Ransom because it is an adventure story which is quite good, because you keep wanting to know what’s going to happen next. At first it gets a bit complicated but as you get further into the book you start understanding more and more. It’s a really great read.

  6. This book is a let down for me. This story could have been amazing. Instead it centres on.. a “sea” cat. CAT’S CANT STEER BOATS!!!!!!
Overall I was very disappointed. It could have been so much better.

  7. I loved this book. My favourite character was the cat. Will there be a sequel?

  8. I really wasn’t that keen on this book compared to the others and found that it talked about the cat a lot……………
After about a third of the book it picked up a bit though …still not my favourite !

  9. I really enjoyed this book because when you got into it you don’t want to stop. When you finally do stop you can’t wait for the next day to come so you can read some more!

  10. This book was a bit of happy book because it went and on and on describing the ’seacat’.

  11. I didnt like this book as much as the others. The reasons for which are: the twists of the story were hard to understand. Eg. the seacat.

  12. This book was meant to let you know that you can do anything when you put your mind to it. Well that’s what I think. Its really good

  13. This book was ok I really enjoyed it………… 🙂 😛 😛 🙂 😀 😛 😛 🙂 😀

  14. It was my favourite book and I want it to win plzzzzzzzz because I realy enjoyed it, it was soooo good 😀 🙂

  15. This was a fantastic book. I thought the idea was amazing, that, while going forward in time, we could actually go backwards in technology. The amount of description in this book was dazzling. While reading about the sea battle, I could almost feel the wind in my face, the sea sloshing around the boat, the rockets firing… I found the idea of sea cats interesting, too. I have always been fond of cats, but have never supposed them to be useful except as a way of getting rid of vermin. I also thought the characters were very well described.

  16. I enjoyed this book but at first it was quite hard to understand and get into but when you read on a bit more you find the thrill in this story. It almost feels like you’re there fighting your village to freedom and the blame and resentment.

  17. I thought that this book was quite hard to get into but liked the theme of how the prime minister’s daughter got kidnapped by the reavers. I liked the way a young girl goes to find out what really happened and clears her village’s name after getting blamed for the misfortune!!

  18. This book was very good. It really pulls you into the story, a real page-turner. This book sometimes confused me though in the first 50 pages or so. I don’t know why, I just couldn’t understand it, it is a good job that I kept reading, because I might have just gave up on it. It is past the finishing time for this book, but I want to read on, so I am taking it home to read until the end.

  19. I liked this book but I found it quite confusing. Also I found that it was quite hard to get into as well. I still enjoyed it though!
